Poor Tom Ridge
Apparently, President Bush’s underfunding of the Department of Homeland Security has hit critical mass: DHS Director Tom Ridge is considering stepping down so he can make more money in the private sector. His main reason for doing so: to put his kids through college. This is an admirable enough notion, certainly. What peaked my interest, however, was that Mr. Ridge is pulling down $175,700 at his current post, and is worried he won’t be able to comfortably put his two teenage children through college.
College is just getting too damn expensive.
